    60fps .MTS file to 23.98fps

    bschlick

I have shot multiple clips at 60fps using the Sony HXR-NX5U, the resulting file type is .MTS. I can import these files into my Premiere Pro project and even edit them into my timeline, which is set at 23.98.  The problem is the 60fps clips still playback at the normal rate, not in slow motion.

So my question is, how do I go about getting these 60fps clips to playback in slow motion.

Do I need to convert them using

      • Media Encoder
      • Compressor
      • Other

Any help would be greatly appreciated

      Thanks

I actually found a solution to this

Use Premiere Pro to do it

Import your 60fps clips into Premiere

then right click on the clip

          Choose modify

          then choose Interpret Footage...

then type the frame rate you want in the dialog box titled "Assume the frame rate is"  (I chose 23.98 to match my sequence)

drag the clip to the timeline and you will playback in slow motion

I would reccomend rendering the clip so the playback is smooth, but otherwise everthing should work out fine

Also you might have to scale the size of the clip to match your sequence settings depending on what those are
