I've edited a video in PPro CS5 with footage from a Pentax K-7 HD DSLR. I dont have a lot of experience with HD DSLR footage, but I have worked with 7D footage with no problems at all.
The problem I am having is that when I export the video using H.264 everything looks great on my Mac Book Pro. When I upload it to Vimeo and watch it it still looks great, and it looks fine when I play it on my Iphone 3GS through the Vimeo app., but every other computer Ive watched it on or had co workers watch it on there are strange glitches that are very obvious. It looks like horizontal bars, not like you would see with interlaced footage, but horizontal bars that look like the shot is arranged incorrectly or something to that effect and it increases as motion increases.
I have made several time lines with different properties, and exported each of them out a few different ways. Only two of the options show up fine for me no matter how I view the footage, unless its on another computer. The rest are bad for me and everyone else
Just to put it out there, I know it is not an internet connection problem.
Here are the footage settings:
1280 X 720 (1.0)
These are the source/ outputs that have been successful for me to view on web, hard drive, and Iphone but not for anyone else at all.
used preset under DSLR heading for 720p 60
VBR 2 pass
Max 10.00 Mbps
the following setting are the first settings i used with successful viewing on my end
Source: just set timeline using HDV 720p 30fps preset
VBR 1 pass
Max 10.00 Mbps
render at Max depth and Max render quality checked for every attempt
have also tried timeline settings to match footage but when i went to export footage it went to export for Iphone...
I have Production Premium CS5
my scratch disks are set to my external HD

Thanks a lot!!! Ive tried to give all the info I can think of.
i dont understand why I can see fine and others cant.
Here is a link and a pass to view the video on VIMEO
If it helps, so far it seems that anyone with a newer Mac Book Pro has no trouble while watching the video. Older Mac Books and a last years model of an HP lap top cannot view the video though.
Thanks again, if anyone has any suggestions...
I've taken the video down, so it wont be available for viewing on the web, but if anyone has any idea what causes this to happen i'm still looking for an answer.
