    Plugin Problem On Starting CS3

    Inchindown Community Member

I've recently loaded CS3 onto a Windows 7 PC. When I start CS3 I get several error message. saying that some plugins are not comaptible with this version of CS3. The problem plugins are: FastCore.8BX, MMXCore.8BX, MultiProcessor Support.8BX and Bigger Tiles.8BX.

All of these work fine on my Vista PC.

Anyone know if these plugins are incompatible with W7 or is there something simple I'm missing here. I just copied them from my old PC to the new one, Is it that they need installing rather than just copying.

Just in case anyone thinks I'm a total newbie here, this is not the first time I have moved Photoshop from one PC to another. I've been on Photoshop since version 3 and gone through more computers than I care to remember.  I don't ever recall these files throwing this error before.

          Addition to my original post.

The new PC is a 64 bit machine, in case that might be a factor.

When you say loaded i hope you mean you actually installed cs3 on windows 7 and not just copied the program files over to win 7.

Those are adobe plugins installed with the cs3 install, so there is no need to copy those, only your third party plugins and it's

usually a good idea to use the plugin installer rather than to copy the files over. Were those plugins from cs3 or some other version?

You should probably uninstall cs3 and clear out the cs3 program files folder and then reinstall cs3 and then update cs3 to 10.01.

Photoshop cs3 should run fine on win 7 x64.
