[scott] Oct 10, 2011 1:36 AM (in response to simpson246)Well.. I'm begining to think these posts are spam.
If you are looking for Paint.NET, the best free photo editing software for Windows
So it's a free photo editor and you paid for Illustrator??? Doesn't make sense. Few would pay for AI without first owning some version of Photoshop.

5. Re: Looking to export logo- Although what format should I use to shrink without lose of quality?
[Jongware] Oct 10, 2011 12:45 PM (in response to simpson246)So I googled and found that paint.net indeed is a bitmap editor. There is only one way to open a vector image in a bitmap editor, and that is to first export it to a bitmap. (This nullifies your requirement "as so that I can shrink it down without losing quanlity?")

Go to File, then to Export ... and choose any format mentioned in this paint.net support forum post:

8. Re: Looking to export logo- Although what format should I use to shrink without lose of quality?
Wade_Zimmerman Oct 10, 2011 1:48 PM (in response to simpson246)Well in that case your best answer would be to buy Photoshop or a suite or cheaper Fireworks or scale it down in illustrator and then export it why reduce the file size in a program that first requires you to raster the file?

simpson246 Oct 10, 2011 2:20 PM (in response to simpson246)Thanks for the reply Wade.
Its only because I've got images of products I sell on Paint.net which I know how to use so I'm looking to shrink the logo down with a clear background and paste it over the logo, to kind of watermark it.
thanks

Wade_Zimmerman Oct 10, 2011 3:14 PM (in response to simpson246)Well as the link Monika posted it appears .png would be the best export file format make sure you save it as transparent and if you wish you can use the Save fr Microsoft Word also which will give you a .png file as well.
