    No Tool Panel

    u2metoo@

      Stupid question of the day.

I just installed CS5.5, and I have no tool panel.  The Window>Options is checked, but when I select it, it does nothing.

      I have pulled the updates.

How do I get the tool panel?

Which Tool Panel are you talkig about here, as there is one, usually associated with editing in the Timeline, but another in the Titler?

In Window>Workspace, have you tried Reset Workspace?

          Good luck,

Yes, Timeline Tools. Razor, Clip, Stretch...

Yeah, I hit the reset button, and that does reset just fine, but the Timeline Tools still are not present.  I've looked at the panel settings on each panel, and I just can't seem to find something that will expose the Tools.

I just came from CS 5, and I believe (by default) the tools were located on the top right handside, above the panels.

The default for CS5 is bottom right, next to the timeline pane.

                I'm an idiot!

Well there it is, at the bottom right hand corner. I knew I was overlooking something.

When I Reset The Current Workspace,  I didn't see it show up there.

OK, two other questions (thanks for those answers BTW):

Did you "float" that Panel, and if so, could it now be behind another?

Did you once have two monitors, but now only one?

The second is doubtful, as that usually only affects dialog boxes, that pop up on the second monitor, which would no longer be there, should the monitor layout have chaned.

For the first, I'll test to see if that is even possible in the GUI - just a thought.

                  Good luck,

[Edit] Oops, never mind. We were both typing at the same time. Glad that you found it!

                    single monitor.

I need to become a power user, and use the keystroke shortcuts.
