    Dropdown Boxes

Director seems to have simple ways of jumping to a marker based on selection that the user chooses in the dropdown box but I can't seem to figure out how to pass the selection somewhere else as in:

if the selection is "A" then
set the member of sprite(n) to member("newspritemember")
      end if

First, what do you mean by dropdown box. Are you creating a dropdown menu? Could
you give more info on what sprite n is?

It's not clear what you're trying to do so impossible to give an answer.

I have a dropdown list in director. You click on it and it drops down to give the user the choice to choose between several options. In this case, the user can choose any letters of the alphabet from this dropdown list... or what you seem to be calling a menu. When the user selects the letter they want, I want a certain sprite to change it's member. The code that I want to occur I have under control. It's just where to write this code so that it executes upon selection of a letter from the dropdown list.
