Migrating from 1.5 to 1.6 Final; getting a Type Coercion error with Akamai plugin

So I'm migrating an OSMF 1.5 project to 1.6, and while things with the Youtube plugin are running as smoothly as before, when I try to open an Akamai video using their plugin I get the following error message:

TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.media::Video@17765221 to org.osmf.media.videoClasses.VideoSurface.

When I stop the debug session in Flash builder, the video plays on normally. Does anyone have any information about this? I've tried searching high and low, but can't seem to figure this one out.

      Thanks!
