We are using CS5 and have it installed on a machine, which has a production license with Darwin VDP software.
The way we work, is to do all the design work on our local copy of Indesign, and run productions using the pilot license of Darwin (which allows you to proof the first 5 records.) Once happy, we remote desktop to the production machine, log on and run the full produciton.
We upgraded from CS4 to CS5 this morning, and all worked well for a short amount of time. By the time the 3rd of 4th user had remoted to the production machine, InDesign took an age to load.
It is work mentioning that this is the 3rd PC we have used as our production machine, and we had the same probelm with CS4.
For starters, I'm pretty sure that's an EULA violation. Even if it's not, you're not in any kind of supported territory so you're pretty much on your own here.
I agree with Bob that something sounds funny here, but I'm not one to judge. What you are describing almost sounds like a networking issue. But maybe not, how are you remoting to said production machine?
