Cannot single video to normal time in same time space

    dopamine100

      Hi there,

      I am SO frusterated,

      I have a video.

      This video is available at:

      http://klikchik.com/seanpics/HDMI_20111013_0051.ts

This video refuses to export at a normal speed, while maintaining the entire video.

Either I lose half of the video at normal speed, or I have a near 2x speed video.

I have tried close to, if not more than, 50 times to get this thing to render out at a normal speed, while maintining a proper length.

I am new to premiere and after effects so have no clue what the fruit is wrong.

Every time I try to spit this thing out at the correct speed, and without cutting it off, I destroy it.

Please.  Ask me anything.  It is 4 AM and I am desperate.

      YAY!

You need to give more details:

          1. Edited in AE or PP
          2. Format of source material
          3. Video preset used for timeline
          4. Frame rate
          5. Export size/format/frame rate

            1. Edited in AE or PP

Edited in both After Effects and Premiere.

I tried ditching everything.  I opened a new project in premiere.  Put this video in, and exported it.  The timing was appx half speed.

            1. Format of source material

.ts which I am unfamilair with.  If I open the original .ts using Media Player Classic or any other video player, it plays as expected.  If I run it through Premiere in the very least, it renders out to play at appx half speed.

            1. Video preset used for timeline

I do not know what that means, but it sounds perhaps like something I need to learn.

            1. Frame rate

29.97 as input and as expected output

            1. Export size/format/frame rate

            Untitled-1.jpg\\\

Thank you for taking some time to ask questions.

Honestly, I am so exhausted right now I am probably not making any sense.

            *edit*

Let me be clear.  I do not know what terms I should be using.  (Speed, time, duration, length)

Let me provide a hypothetical example.

I import a video which lasts X seconds.

I export this video expecting it to last X seconds. (After Effects Or Premiere)

I get a video that DOES last X seconds, but it is slowed down and I get only approxamatly half of the video.

            Again,

            Thank you.

This is not standardized media form a supported camera.  Stick to using that inside of PP, and things should fare better for you.

I am stuck using captured video from a capture card hooked up to my iPhone so I can demo our application.

After 2 days of trying everything I could think of, I finally came up with a crude work around.

If I want a 60 second video at normal speed, record what I want for 60 second duration, and then allow the recording to continue to record garbage for another 60 seconds.  When I import it, I get approximatly what I want.

I find it hard to believe that premiere cannot provide standardized media from non standard footage.

                Oh well!

Thank you guys for your responses.
