Hit "Do Not Save Changes" by mistake - how to recover?

I have been working in Pagemaker and now InDesign for some 20 years and have never done this before, I feel so stupid. I had two InDesign files open and closed the wrong one, choosing Do Not Save Changes.  I have a magazine deadline and lost half a  day's work in the document I mistakenly did not save. I looked for temp files hoping to restore but have found nothing. Does anyone know if there is a backup copy that would include the work prior to my mistakenly closing the file without saving changes? Thank you one and all for any ideas!
