1. Re: The *.icc file is associated with PS process after assigning profile for a picture of CMYK mode ?
Mylenium Oct 18, 2011 1:10 AM (in response to Royt2011)Yeah, that's just how it is - any file in use is/ should be locked on Windows (if it isn#t, something is wrong). If you want to rename, duplicate the file. This is nothing out of the ordinary.

Royt2011 Oct 18, 2011 4:10 AM (in response to Mylenium)Thanks. But it's curious that the default icc files won't be locked, (such as USWebCoatedSWOP.icc, USWebUncoated.icc & JapanColor2003WebCoated.icc). After assigning these profiles then picture document changes, but the local disk icc file can still be renamed. You may try it on your Win OS.

emil emil Oct 18, 2011 7:38 AM (in response to Royt2011)I made a quick try and I can change the name of various custom profiles I've created using Photoshop but it appears that the name of the profile can't be changed if Photoshop was started with the profile in question selected as a soft proofing profile in View > Proof Setup. You have to quit Photoshop, just changing the soft proofing profile to another is not enough.
