broken selectionBeginIndex, selectionEndIndex when using TextField.alwaysShowSelection

I noticed a difference between AIR 2.7 and AIR 3.0.

When a TextField has "alwaysShowSelection"-> "true" and there is a selection active. If the TextField looses focus, it's selectionBeginIndex and selectionEndIndex are both set to TextField.length, basically removing the selection. However, the background text fill (from alwaysShowSelection) is still visible.

The desired behaviour is that the selectionBeginIndex and selectionEndIndex remains intact even after the focus is lost.
