    [AS][CS5] How to check if a book file has missing documents?

    JohnDevlon Level 1

      Hi,

      Does anyone know how to check a active book file for missing documents using Applescript?

      Thanx

          Hi

          I have not been able to access all the properties of the book contents of a book such as status, but I can get the "full name" of each of the book contents. As this is the full file path to where InDesign thinks the file is, you can try to make it into an alias, if the file is not there it will fail. If you use a try statement you can catch which file paths failed.

          tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"

                set missingBookFiles to {}

               repeat with x from 1 to count of book content of book 1

                    set bookPath to full name of book content x of book 1

                    try

                         set bookPath to bookPath as alias

                    on error

                         copy bookPath  to end of missingBookFiles

                    end try

               end repeat

          end tell

          return missingBookFiles

          I hope that is of help.
