Adobe utility is a software called Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool
Reinstalling is not the same as an upgrade. If you are going to reinstall because you are having a lot of errors you should run the clean tool after you uninstall and before you reinstall.
If you want to try to avoid the uninstall/clean tool/reinstall cycle, you can run the installer and try to do a "repair" without removing anything, but it may not be successful.
It is just a coincidence. Upgrading arrived yesterday...
I understand for the moment the cleanest steps should be:
2) Run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool
3) Reinstall the actual Suite
3) Install the upgraded shipped version of the Creative Suite
An upgrade makes a clean copy oif the new version completely independent of the old. It should install fine without running the clean tool, but you should NOT unistall the old version AFTER installing the new one. If you plan on leaving both versions onthe machine, I would fix the old one first, then install the new one.
Yes, absolutely perfect instalation.
Only one step!
