Around 4 GB, maybe even 3 GB, depending on your workflow with other applications and use performance unless using RED or EPIC material, then memory may be preferable.
I got a warning that I was "Adobe Premiere Pro is running very low on system memory. Save project and proceed with caution" Task mgr says memory usage is 2.5 gb of the 16 GB available, and CPU at 0-1%. So, is this a false warning?
I changed render setting to "performance" with 4 GB for other apps. I still get the message, particularly when I open the titler.
Premiere seems to work okay most of the time. However, whenever I export something, with AME or direct from Premiere it hangs for a while. I have Matrox MX02 Mini installed, but uninstalling it makes no difference. I work with HDV footage mostly, or the Matrox AVI.
I'm convinced there is something wrong with my system because I'm not doing anything complex. Windows task manager shows 78 processes running (without Premiere) so I need to figure out which and how to shut some down. I downloaded Process Explorer, but I'm afraid that's just one more thing to eat up memory.
