"Save as" error when publishing - Contribute CS5

    lainie.strange Community Member

I am using Contribute CS5 (and just made sure I had all the most recent updates) and I have the following issue:

When I go to publish the file, it goes through the process of successfully publishing it, then a 'save as' window pops up. I hit cancel on it, then I get another pop-up window that says "Save changes to file.html?" with a Yes/No/Cancel button. I hit cancel. The published changes are there.

It's a confusing message for our users and it's only happening on a handful of pages. Has anyone ever had this happen?

      Thanks - Lainie

I thought I'd bump this back up, this is something I posted a few months ago. Anybody see this error before? I still have a handful of my users with this problem. I thought maybe it somehow had to do with the update date automatically feature I have the in the footer of the dreamweaver templates, but I can't seem to find any connection there. Any help greatly appreciated.

This might come if the Contribute preferences is corrupted. Can you please try clearing the contribute preferences?

            How to clear the preference?

Delete the Preferences in Registry -

Open registry  [Start – Run – type “regedit” and click enter]

Go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\”   and delete the folder “Contribute 6”

Delete the Preferences in locale –

Windows XP :  Go to “C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe”   and delete the folder “Contribute CS5”

Windows 7 and Vista “C:\Users\<username>\Appdata\Local\Adobe”     and delete the folder  “Contribute CS5”

For more details refer to, http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/2011/11/launch-contribute-freshly-by-deleting-preference s.html .

Note:- Clearing preference is like the fresh installation of the product. All the connections and unpublished drafts will be lost.
