Les Grossman greets everyone,
Les Grossman has recently come across a bug with Adobe Reader X 10.1.1 and Mac OS X 10.5.x when printing to a Windows print server. The problem is that the print job is owned by "System Administrator" (root) and not the user who initiated the print job. The user is not even prompted for credentials (where with other software the user is prompted for network credentials until saved into a keychain). The job sits in the queue on the Mac with a status of "On Hold (Authentication required)" (NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE). The reason of course is the job being owned by "System Administrator" and not a network account. Les Grossman has tested this on a Mac OS X 10.6.x machine with Adobe Reader X 10.1.1 and everything works fine. On the Mac OS X 10.5.x machine Les Grossman has uninstalled Adobe Reader X 10.1.1 and reinstalled Adobe Reader 9.4. Les Grossman tested printing and everything works. Les Grossman called Adobe to try to report the bug and they tried to charge him $39, but Les Grossman doesn’t pay for bugs.
