          All in all looks nice.

But you forgot a Project disk (which should be separate from the Media drive).

            Should it?

            Can't say I've noticed a difference

              Dreinz,

You've got some excellent choices in your build so far, but some choices that you should change / strongly reconsider:

              1) Keep the book M4, but DEFINITELY change out your 2nd SSD to something rotating at 7200; I would suggest dumping your "scratch" M4 budet to fund 2x1TB in RAID 0 (off motherboard controller) for Media cache, Media cache DB, and render outputs. You can point Windows "scratch" to any of your 3 drive arrays (boot, RAID 0 or 4x1TB RAID) and with 24GB of RAM it will work just fine (my system is somewhat similar to what you are planning).

              2) Newegg reviews, which I trust quite a bit, completely slam your RAID card choice; That being said, if you are sure the Asus + 6-core Intel will work fine with it OK. Personally, I don't like wasting my time with any computer component that doesn't get 4+ Eggs for a video edit build

              3) Not essential, but I would strongly suggest the extra cash to upgrade to Corsair's AX850 P/S; it is an excellent design (newer, completely modular cabling, better performance, etc.)

              Good luck!

              Jim

You might want to wait a little longer before you decide on a configuration.

Occasionally I'm forced to work with less than optimal drive configuration.  I definitely notice a difference when the Media is on a separate drive from other assets like audio and still images (which go on the Project drive).

Of course, that is using single drives.  I suppose it might not show as much difference when using a faster RAID array.
