Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the the"how" but our IT disables updates on the individual machines (not that they have permissions to install anyhow) and pushes the updates out when they are available.
I looked into that option and a PHD in propellors is required. Way more time than I am willing to spend to learn. I'm hoping for something that a person who doesn't speak binary could use. A check box or a registry setting would be great!

Thanks for the tip. I did check a machine with Adobe Reader 9.0 and that registry key does not exist. I assume I have to create it.
There wouldn't by any chance be a way to test if it is working.
