1. Re: Auto setting for transcoding in Encore CS5
Stan Jones Nov 5, 2011 10:52 AM (in response to Volodymyr Kashuba)I do not have this issue in CS5.
What is the max transcoding rate set in your default setting?
How are you reading the actual size of the iso?

2. Re: Auto setting for transcoding in Encore CS5
Volodymyr Kashuba Nov 5, 2011 11:23 AM (in response to Stan Jones)The max transcoding rate set to 9.4 Mbps,
Video Transcoding: Codec: MPEG-2
Dimension: 720x480
Frame Rate: 29.97
Fields: Lower Field First
Audio Transcoding: Dlby Digital.
The actual size of the .ISO I'm reading a few diferent ways, and they all this same. Right clik on file and Properties. And it saing Sise 3.92 GB, Sise on disc 3.92 GB. If I moove mouse over the file it saing 3.92 GB. If I take .ISO in to ImageBubn it reads this same 3.92 GB.
And after burning visualy it is a lot of spase left on DVD disk, not like before it was burned to the very end edge of the disc.

Stan Jones Nov 5, 2011 6:48 PM (in response to Volodymyr Kashuba)Hmmm.
What format are your assets?
You might post a screenshot of your project panel
Forgot to ask before: before you transcode, what does the build panel show as amount free?

4. Re: Auto setting for transcoding in Encore CS5
Stan Jones Nov 5, 2011 7:53 PM (in response to Stan Jones)My test: 1 hour 25 minute, dynamic link from PR; DVD project with max rate 9.4. One menu, one button. Asset set to automatic. Build panel shows only a few MB free. Build to folder: size in Windows explorer is 4.33GB (which is 4.653,etc - effectively just under a full 4.7GB).

5. Re: Auto setting for transcoding in Encore CS5
Volodymyr Kashuba Nov 5, 2011 9:32 PM (in response to Stan Jones)My assets is PPro CS5 sequence over Dynamic Link. On timeline original .MTS files from AG-HMC150 camcorder 1920x1080@60i in PH mode (highest quality).
Build panel before transcoding shows everything correct, just like yours, a few MB free. But after transcoding again 3.92 GB even. And it don't matter haw long is timeline 1 hour 25 min or 1 hour 50 min. Result always this same - 3.92 GB.
I'm using Encore from very first version Encore 1.0, and I know what I'm doing, but after installing full SC5 Production Premium on clean PC with Windows7x64 Ultimate and making a few projects I noticed this. My Windows and all Adobe software is up to date and with latest updates. I don't have any idea why it does like that.
And like I stated before its like that on two diferent systems.
