This may seem like a silly question, but it's one I've never thought about until now — is it necessary to have Acrobat to create a PDF from InDesign?
Frankly, I've never thought about the issue since I have the entire suite, but here's the situation: I work with a client who is insistent on doing layout mockups for a basic newsletter I do for him. He now wants to use the same program I'm using, so I need to tell him if he can just purchase ID or if he'll also need to purchase Acrobat. I was unable to find an answer to my question with a Google search.
No, it’s not necessary at all. InDesign creates PDF all by itself.
Thanks so much, Bob!
