Nov. 10 - Folio Producer Service Update

The links go to updates dated 10/27. Is that the new one or will there be a new build posted later today?

I have to generate an new app and launch it for the 20 november. Should I use this new version of VB but with the current (not updated) version of Overlay creator/Folio builder ??

Is this why I'm getting constant ERROR DURING DOWNLOAD messages this evening?

@landvr1: yes, might be, because the digital publishing services are down right know. You can keep an eye on health.acrobat.com to know when everything is back up again.

just had to insatall the new update for the folio builder and nothing works after the update! all i get when i restart indesign is the message, that i have to update the folio builder what i just did. restart won't help either.

gotta finish a magazine today and the folio builder doesn't work anymore! after all this problems in the past with downloading folios to the ipad from the adobe server this is just another unbelievable thing. please help!

How come that everytime after a new update, nothing works as well as it did before? I installed the new folio builder update just now and now I can't seem to upload any videos into my articles, because I always get the massage 'upload failed. [svr.Unknown]'.

Can someone help? Maybe withdraw the update, because everything was fine before that? Anything?

I have update yesterday the VB v17. Was able to connect only with one of my Adobe account ! and sisnce this morning impossible to open VB. I have delete it, empty trash (on MAC) and reinstall it again. still ipossible to open/launch VB !!

I had an answer from Adobe telling me :

I should always update the Folio Builder Panel (VB)

for Folio Producer (Overlay, etc) its to our discretion regarding the app version we are working on.

And telling me I should FIRST update the FOlio Builder and after the Folio Producer.

I dont need to update my Folio Producer right now. So still impossible to use VB v17.

What is the solution??? Adobe some help would be more appreciated

I can't get it to work. WTF are you doing Adobe? It's not like I paid for it and need it to work.

We uninstalled the Folio Builder and then installed the new version. We already had the latest version of Folio Producer.

It worked on a Mac with CS5.5 and a PC with CS5.

Althought there wasn't an explicit instruction to uninstall the Folio Builder this time in the past Adobe had always stated that this should be done so this may be the cause of some of the problems.

And it's not only videos. I can't upload any articles(stacks). I always get the "Upolad failed. [svr.Unknown]' error. Any suggestions?

Did you uninstal Folio Builder?

I am having the same problem as bs_stilbezirk, and yes, I have indeed installed the Folio Builder Panel before installing the new version.

As a matter of fact, I did so multiple times, with and without retaining the preferences.

So far, nothing has helped, including reinstalling Folio Producer (the late October version).

I am running InDesign CS5 though, so that may be the problem.

sure. I deinstalled and reinstalled the expansions quite a few times. only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling indesign. but that's only because I don't think the problem lies with indesign, 'cause everything worked fine until the new update came out...

I'm running on CS5 as well. if that helps solving the problem.

Then, If I have InDesign CS5 or CS5.5 with Folio Producer / Folio Builder v1.1.6 I can install straight in both this new version, ok?

Works the same in both Indesign now

I get a "Site Area Temporarily Unavailable" when i try do download.

My Folio Producer tells me to update, and i can't work on my folios at all.

I can't work, and i can't update, nice work Adobe!

Can I just say that I think it's appalling that as paid up-subscribers we get no notifications of these events. Surely it would be feasible to set up a mailing list that would actively alert us to updates?

Maybe I should contact my Gold support?

I am in contact with adobe.com NOC - They are currently investigating.

Hello Everybody,

Sorry for the inconvenience. The Adobe.com team is working on their infrastructure. Investigation this evening (CET) showed that one server for adobe.com was causing issues. Mainly visitors to adobe.com from Europe were affected by this. The webops team has rerouted the traffic and the components should be downloadable again. I am trying from the Netherlands and downloads are working for me again.

I have absolutely no problem getting to the adobe or acrobat site. I just have problems uploading my folios to my acrobat.com account. Just tried it again and still getting the [svr.Unknown] message. I have work to do. This is getting out of hand.

Alright. Seems to be working again. Reinstalling InDesign with all the updates and the folio builder seems to work. Now let's get back to work!!!
