    symbol display quality

I am using Illustrator to create icons that I turn into symbols and export as .swf. The symbol names are called directly in flex and end up in the interface. The problem is the quality is reduced. They simply don't look as good in the flex app as they do in the .ai and .swf file.

I have tried to modify the export options, such as curve quality, in AI however I am still getting inferior graphics in the app.

Does anyone know of a general rule set for maximizing the quality of icons and such that are imported in this manner?

      Thank you in advance.
