Oh, and another thing I should mention:
My DSLR (canon 5d Mark 2) Actually records the DATE and the TIME of when I hit the record button. This is located under the "Date Created" meta data which is viewable in the windows media browser(explorer). AND, it also says "Date Modified" to indicate when I stopped recording. This is very useful,
but is this a good way I can multiple cams synced in time?
As far as I know there is no way do do this automatically in Premiere which is why I get someone to clap on camera before each take.
Date and time are simply not accurate enough. The only reliable way is with genlocked cameras, which is not possible with DSLR's, so the next best thing is to use either a clap or to use a photoflash to identify the start of a scene.
date and time only works if they are the same exact setting down to 1/60th of a second. We clap as well, low tech, but tried and true.
