    Help With Video Shuttering

    jjm8611

      Hello All,

I have a Gopro Hero2 HD.  I have downloded several videos to Premiere 10....both 960 60 fps AND 720 30 fps.  Both videos play bach with poor quality and very "shuttery".

      I am using:

      Windows Vista

      HP Desktop

AMD Phenom x4 9750 Quad core CPU

      8 GB memory

      750 GB Hard Drive

      Geforce 9500 GS Video Card

      Any suggestion improve the shuttering?

With most highly compressed HD material, the CPU is the main weak link. There is a lot of computational work going on. While others recommend lower rated CPU's, general experience seems to indicate that an i7 is probably what one would need for smoothest playback.

Now, it appears that you have only one HDD. Is that correct? The second biggest bottleneck is the I/O, with at least two physical HDD's better for playback performance.

Now, what are the Project Presets, that you are experimenting with? In each case, do they match the Source Files, that you are Importing and using?

When you drag your Go-Pro Clips to the Timeline, do you have a red line above the Clips? If so, does playback improved, if you Render the Timeline, by hitting Enter?

          Good luck,
