    future of flash

    I Love Doing Websites

      I am confused,

is flash going to be abandon?

do we need to swap for html5 and jquery?

where are the usages of flash now and in the web future?

      Many thanks,

Yes, you can bet that Adobe will slowly torture Flash just like it did Director until nothing works at all. Yes, you should be looking for alternatives. Have a look at Adobe's new Edge: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/edge/ . It's an interesting tool for creating html/javascript/css based animation for use in HTML documents.

The only thing that you can be certain of is that the future will be different.

I invested a lot of time and money in learning Director/Lingo;  Adobe abandoned it in favor of Flash, and I lived the slow death for several years.   I then invested a lot more time and money in Flash/Action Script... here we go again.

Is it just me, or is anyone else finding it a bit difficult to trust Adobe, going forward?  I'm starting to think that non-Adobe dev tools may be the best bet.
