i'm trying to figure out if AIR is a solution for a project I have. We have Flash CBT programs that were up till now deployed via disk. The company has gotten very large and its too combersome to have to update all their locations by disk. They want all updates to come from a centeral location on their web server. Thsi Flash application is much too robust for standard web deployment. A lot of images and audio and a 2 hour run time. Is it possible with AIR to just publish the Flash application out as AIR and have it run on each stores desktop but have it get updates via the web?
Also, does it still use web bandwidth to run or once its downloaded does the web connect and band width not matter? Do you know if a Flash application that uses a shell that pulls in lots of different files works with AIR?
Yes you can make an AIR application that's updated through the web, even automatically if you want. The AIR application runs locally and only gets stuff from servers when it's specified to do so. What do you mean with "a shell that pulls in lots of different files works with AIR?"
