    Capturing Video

I plugged my Canon DVD camcorder into my comuter via USB 2.0, and it is not picking it up for the capture option. I am in PE9. Any thoughts?

Only tape-based video can be captured, austin, and then only over a FireWire connection.

To get video from a DVD camcorder, you finalize the disc and place it in your computer's disc drive. Then you use Premiere Elements' Get Media/From DVD to open the Video Importer and browse to the drive and rip the files to your hard drive. You can find instructions for doing this in the picture guide that's included with the software and in my books.

BTW, before you capture your video, make sure that, when you first start your project, you select the settings for a Hard Disk Camcorder. Otherwise the files from your DVD will have interlacing issues. (I cover this in the book too. )
