Title says it all, or at least I think that's the problem from what I've gathered on the web so far
I'm downloading scholarly articles from EBSCOhost and the only form offered is PDF, otherwise I would just highlight in Word.
I've downloaded 2 different articles from ebsco. The version of the paper that allows commenting and notes is 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x). The version of the one that's a &*$%^!*#@ is 1.2 (Acrobat 3.x). I think that's the problem. Is there any way of getting around this? When I click on the highlight text icon the correct cursor form appears but it simply doesn't highlight. I've disabled security settings. I've changed the cursor tools but they still seem to just take captures of the area I highlight. I've tried to export it as a text but the file is empty. Paper is due tomorrow.
Are the PDF files the result of scans?
Ah! I believe it is. It won't read out loud and the word search doesn't work. Do I need to run a character analysis or something now?
In Adobe Acrobat perform OCR on this file.
