Suddenly all my text is appearing underlined.

I've searched but cannot find how to turn it off.

Such a simple thing but I'm completely lost.

How do I do it?

That's probably the underline (baseline) when making a text layer and should go away when you commit the text.

I think that represents the baseline of the text and is just for visual reference.

You can hide it while typing by pressing Cmd+H.

Just discovered that clicking on the Hand Tool removes the underlining.

It appears that the text is automatically underlined whilst using the Text Tool but I never had this problem in earlier versions.

Why is it underlined whilst being typed?

The usual cause is having Underline enabled in the Character panel.

Thanks for pointing out the Character panel which is what I was looking for.

However, the underlining box was not selected and I have come to the conclusion that what I am seeing is not underlining as it disappears when I change from the Text tool.

This is a screenshot.

Perhaps you could explain what it is I am seeing?

Thanks. That's done the trick.

I am sure that my previous version (PS CS3) did not have that feature.
