It certainly should not have caused this.
Have you tried Windows Restore? Press F8 as your computer boots up until you get to the option screen.
I'd love to ... but the PC won't even start. The hard drive sounds like it's starting but nothing is showing on the video screen.
I'm getting "No Video input" from the monitor after the install.
I've changed the video card and it's the same problem.
That's not a bad installation. That's a crashed hard drive.

I've tried a different hard drive as well - and it's still not starting up.
The installation appears to have caused some sort of terminal hardware fault.
