Do you want to select or just move to the next clip?
Like my question states, I want to "select the next clip".
If I could jump-select from clip to clip to clip down a timeline track it would make it easier to engage or disengage effects since my mouse could remain in in the Effect Control panel.
Thanks for the answer, Colin.
Lippy? I asked a clear question and you replied insinuating that I was not sure of what I meant to ask. I was a little offended.
Colin explained why he asked the question. You sent kind of a mixed message in your original post. The keyboard shortcuts you referenced in that post are for moving between clips, and not for selecting them. Yet your question was about selecting clips. He certainly wasn't trying to offend you, he just wanted to clarify exactly what you were trying to do.
Yes, Colin explained.
He also suggested I needn't be "lippy." Only my mother can get away with that.
Offended by me asking for clarification? Wow--OK. Your question was not clear, and that's why I asked. What would your disproportionately-scaled response have been if I'd said "Why don't you read the manual?" or "Why don't you look in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog for yourself?"
You said that Page Up/Down "did not work"--those are the default shortcuts for going to the Previous/Next edit point. They also depend on tracks being targeted, which is what I was construing as "not working," and why I asked for clarification.
Next time, I'll avoid your posts since you clearly are easily offended by help. Bite the hand the feeds...
You were "lippy". How was he supposed to respond?
And before this goes any further, please consider that if you react, shall we say, aggressively towards someone who is trying to help, you can expect some aggression right back, and maybe lose their input altogether. Obviously that's not good for you or for anyone else who may benefit from whatever information you receive. Better to first give the responder the benefit of the doubt and maybe a chance to explain why they responded the way they did. Don't take offense so quickly.
Obviously with over 5000 posts here in the forum you are a big contributor, and as a forum moderator myself (somwhere else) I know that means you are likely a very helpful person. I appreciate your help. Here's what I think a more respectful answer may have looked like:
It is not possible to select the next clip in a timeline track using shortcuts, only with a mouse click. I suggest you send a feature request to Adobe.
On the other hand, your reference to Page Up / Down and Home / End suggests you might be confusing Selecting with Moving since those are moving shortcuts. In that case... etc.
I just don't appreciate being called "lippy".
And that's just plain condescending. Later, dude...

Sheeesh. That sounds rather threatening.
