In InDesign CS4, you could select a text box and lock its position. That would prevent copy editors from accidentally moving it, but they could still double click inside of it to edit the text.
When you open such a CS4 file in CS5.5, it appears that in translation the layer simply gets locked as a whole - not only can you not move it, but you can't edit it without unlocking the entire layer...which could cause accidental text box movement.
Does anybody know of a way around this?
In your preferences uncheck Prevent Selection of Locked Objects in the General pane.
Thank you! Just what we needed.
This is what I needed as well :-) - THANKS.
