    draw() function runs Slow

      I am trying to find a way to extract the bitmapdata from a display object without taking a major performance hit. My testing shows that simply running bitmapdata.draw(displayobject); takes a 800x600 flash movie from 60 fps to 30 fps. Does anyone know another way of getting bitmapdata from the screen ie maybe pulling it directly from the flash renderer or something else I am not thinking of. Maybe something using new flash 10 gpu techniques?

      Any help, ideas would be great.
