On what packaging or license agreement does Adobe state (large, so that one can actually read it) that we have to keep full license product boxes forever or else be stung for huge amounts (in this case $24,000) for using "unlicensed" upgrades? We purchased our original full Adobe CS1 licenses in 2004. Adobe is now asking us to prove to us that we have those boxes (serial numbers apparently no good as Adobe's records only go back to 2005? Is that really true, Adobe?).
Isn't this somewhat unreasonable? How come Adobe allowed us to buy that first lot of CS2 upgrades in the first place?
You know, these software companies complain about being "harmed" by piracy but make legitimate ownership so excruciating that it makes pirated products appealing.
Personally what I do is keep my own file of serial numbers and receipts but from what I'm reading, I may run into a problem even though I have the actual serial and receipts?
