I'm a fairly new flex developer and a fairly new programmer so bear with me.
There is a column I am trying to do a custom sort on. It has a string value something like this: "132,409 to 135,508"
Since it is a string, it won't sort quite right. What I am trying to do is take that first number and sort by it as a number, not as a string.
Is there some way to read in that string up to the word "to", cast it as a number, then sort by it?
Can you post your custom sort function code?
This is data coming from somewhere, correct?
What about if you create a field in your data with the data that you want? Means strip commas and all that you don't need and leave just the numbers.
Add this field as column in your ADG, you can hide (visible = "false") this column if you don't need to show, then do the sort base on this column.
I hope this help.
Don, I don't have any code to post. That's the problem
jfb00 that sounds like a good solution, I'll give that a shot. Thanks!
