This isn't necassarily a Soundbooth specific question but I'm sure somebody on this forum would be able to help. I'm creating sound effects for an animated project and almost have all of them checked off my list but one is giving me trouble. There's an extended close up in the project of an old flickering light bulb in an alleyway. It needs a good, flickering or maybe even crackling sound effect to go with it. Flickering lights in reality don't throw off a lot of sound so it's difficult to record the actual sound from life. I'm thinking I need to create the sound in another way, either by creating the sound using a foley trick that I'm not aware of or by recording something vaguely similar and distorting it digitally to achieve the sound I want. Does anybody have any suggestions on achieving a sound effect like this?
