I've had the opportunity to shoot for a couple days with the Canon C300. Great little camera and there is a ton of metadata generated internally. The C300 records 4:2:2 MXF at up to 50mb so the footage all cut effortlesly in Premiere 5.5 but most of the metadata was lost.
Any way to retain this metadata into Premiere?
Copy the complete contents of your card to the hard disk, including all directories and other files and then import the clips from the media browser into the project. That way all the metadata are retained.
Nope. I initially just drag and dropped the folders into bins as I usually do but I tried using the media browser to import them with the same result.
The C300 records a ton of info including frame rate/ISO/exposure/lens/focal length etc etc etc and I'd love to be see that info similar to the way Adobe Bridge displays the metadata of Canon CR2 RAW files.
