Do you run Suitcase? A lot of users have been having this problem recently if they do. There may be an update from Extensis.
Yes, I do use Suitcase Fusion 3 and now have just updated to v14.2, so I'll see if that helps! Thanks.
Have updated Suitcase but InDesign still freezes when Mac wakes up. Anybody else had this problem and sorted it out? Thanks.
(Mac 10.6.8, InDesign v 4)
When my Mac (10.6.8) wakes from sleep, InDesign (CS4) freezes, and I have to do a force quit.
Any hints on why it is doing this?
Sorry, I was hoping Peter's answer would be it. To diagnose this, garner two pieces of data from Activity Monitor:
1. Wait for InDesign to hang and then select it and choose Sample Process. Save the output. Upload the file to http://pastebin.com/ and post a link here.
2. Next, choose View > Send Signal: Abort (SIGABRT). You will get a crash report. Also upload to pastebin and post a link here.
Though...why do you think upgrading Suitcase would help? You should turn off the Suitcase autoactivation plugin. I think downgrading Suitcase may be the way to go, actually, but talk to Extensis support, they're definitely familar with this issue.
We'll tell you what InDesign is hanging on.
I have this problem in CS6. I've narrowed it down to working on open Indesign files that are located in a network folder - sleep mode breaks the network connection which throws the error in the application. If I have a local file open (on the Mac itself), there is no problem upon waking it.
