I have a G5 and I'm running CS3 with 10.4.11. In-Design has been crashing very frequently. The error message says: "Adobe InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected. Please restart InDesign to recover work in any unsaved InDesign documents." I have tried re-starting numerous times and have tried re-installing InDesign. After re-installing, it is running faster but is still crashing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You may have a corrupt file or a bad font, or any number of other things. Does ID actually crash? If so, you should post the crash report on Pastebin.com, then post a link to it here so someone (probably John) can take a look and tell you more. Please also see Guide to Interpreting InDesign Crash Reports | InDesignSecrets
You should also check ~/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version 5.0/InDesign SavedData/ProtectiveShutdownLog and see what it reports.
Something aditional when the problem persists is restart the machine.
This is just enough some times.
