Could be a permissions issue with your media cache folder or some CoDec problem... Impossible to tell.
This is a bump. My question never got answered.
Now, I just get a hang at MediaCore.
No dynamiclinkmanager crash, but still it won't open.
Some things just cannot be answered on a forum and you can bump this thread as much as you like, it may never yield the answer that solves your problem. I know this sounds harsh, but our telepathic powers only go so far. At best you could run Sysinternals' Process Monitor and tell us which registry and file access related to AE or one of its services fails, but even that may not necessarily offer any clue. Also you have never actually told us what your Windows Event Viewer reports as the cause of the crash. That would also be a place to start...
It worked...I reinstalled it and it worked. I think it was because I was using Avast! firewall which was blocking DLM. Also, I didn't wait long enough. After Effects takes a long time to open...probably 10 times anything else on my computer.
