Are you on Sparc or x86?
Copy the libflashplayer.so file to your plugins directory and it should get installed.
I would suggest checking on the Solaris forums in case you have further issues or need more info.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, I thought I was the only one trying to get this working on S10 until I found this. Love the robustness of Solaris, just find it a pain getting things working on it sometimes. Guess that's the price to pay for a robust OS though.
I have the latest version of Solaris 10 sparc, Firefox, and Adobe Flash player. I have copied the libflashplayer.so file to /home/bwilson/.mozilla/firefox/plugins folder. Yet, Firefox still prompts me to add flash player when I go to validate the flash player plugin. What in the world am I doing wrong? Any/all suggestions are welcomed. Thansk ain advance.
Has anyone got flash to work on solaris 10? Firefox-10.0.2 doesn't have a plugins directory so I made the directory plugins and copied libflashplayer.so into firefox/plugins. But firefox still prompts to add flash player. The only version of firefox and flash that works on solaris is firefox-3.6.8
I don't have any solaris experience, but you might want to take a look at this thread. It appeared to help user that were using a version of FF later than 3.6.8
The info in the link worked. I removed $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/ecr2gste/pluginreg.dat then I created the directory plugins and copied libflashplayer.so into plugins. I also changed the permissions on the directory and file to RWX for all
