I am revising a large company directory in Indesign CS 5.0.
Employees' names appear on various pages of the directory & in an Index in the back.
As the page numbers have changed, I need to change what pages they appear on in the Index.
There are hundreds of names! Is there an Indesign function that can do this automatically?
It does do "updates", but it depends how the index was created. If it
was done with the indexing function, I've never had to use that, so I
don't know how it works -- someone else will need to chime in here.
If it was done with cross-references, then they should update automatically.
If the pages numbers were typed in manually, it will need a script.
