There doesn't seem to be an utils.Util
Check the book to ensure you are importing the correct class, or just have import utils.*;
Believe me, I double checked it many times.
The disc has the same code, an exerpt copy/paste job from disc.
private var units:ArrayCollection=new ArrayCollection();
//much more code here...
which also fails.
I got around the compiler error by doing:
But considering I'm a week old in Flex I'd like to understand what's going on as opposed to "hack around" the compiler.
I guess what I'm saying is, there does not seem to be an mx.utils.Util class. Maybe a typo.
Greg- You're right on this one. I was basing a quick demo off the sample code provided with the Flex 3: Training from the Source book, and it too contained the import utils.Util line which caused compile failures.
Removing the import fixed the problem and does not appear to have introduced any problems or errors.
I was afraid some sort of library was required.
But very good, thank you Gentelemen!
What library? I'm having the same problem.
I don't think removing "import utils.Util" will solve the problem.
Is there a Class API document for Flex 3?
You need to copy the code from the disc that came with the book and put it in "utils.Util" in your dev environment.
The book is pretty unclear on this.
Thanks PigFoxeria. It solves the problem.
