1. Re: How do I clear transcoded file?
Stan Jones Dec 13, 2011 4:57 AM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Is "Revert to Original" or "Replace asset" (not sure if those words are right) options when you right click?
What are you trying to do?

2. Re: How do I clear transcoded file?
Howard Hoffman Dec 13, 2011 5:10 PM (in response to Stan Jones)If I right click on the m4v file
Revert to Original is greyed out
Locate Transcoded File -> DVD is greyed out
Replace Asset available, but choosing m4v file leads to "The file ... is already imported into this project". Same if I choose the transcoded m2v file.

3. Re: How do I clear transcoded file?
Stan Jones Dec 13, 2011 6:20 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)I assume you imported an already transcoded file into the project. You want to replace it. Is that right?
However, the way you worded the question (the "transcoded result from Encore") suggests that you think Encore (or AME from Encore) transcoded the file you imported. Which is it?
If, in any event, you are trying to replace the asset, use Replace, and use a renamed file rather than the current name.

4. Re: How do I clear transcoded file?
Howard Hoffman Dec 13, 2011 6:32 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Here is my steps
1. Import m4v
2. Right click on m4v and choose Locate Transcoded File -> DVD, choose m2v
I did not let Encore transcode itself b/c I'd want more control over the transcoding. Both Blu-ray and DVD burn fine.
However, I have a case that there is a mistake and I'd want to remove the manually set transcoded file in Encore.

5. Re: How do I clear transcoded file?
Stan Jones Dec 13, 2011 7:52 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Ok. Now I'm with you.
I think the Revert command is sensitive to which version of the project you are working in.
So you have a project with an m4v that is in a timeline. You go "Locate Transcoded File -> DVD" and select a file. It also asks you for the audio.
You realize it is the wrong file. If the project is set to Bluray and the Bluray is transcoded, Revert to Original is greyed out.
Change the project setting to DVD, and you will be able to Revert the (wrong) DVD transcode, and then do your Locate and select the correct file.
