I need to have something like a context sensitive help button
on my app that works for text fields. When the user has the cursor
in one of the text fields on my form and then clicks my help
button, the code on the button needs to be able to determine which
field most recently had focus. Clearly, I do not want to put focus
event handlers on all my fields to make this work.
Any ideas? Something elegant (but not fictional) like
"Selection.mostRecent()" or "FocusObject.mostRecent()" would be
great :) :) :)
At this point I'm just thrashing in the help and online
forums, and I'm desperately seeking clues to get me unstuck.
Given that I have to go the global var route, is there a way
to do it elegantly, that is, without putting a listener on every
TextInput? I'm wondering if I can put some kind of FocusEvent
listener on the canvas container, and then in the handler I could
determine the target of the FOCUS_OUT event?
Please Flex, don't make me miss HyperCard for its ability to
pass events up the containment hierarchy and handle them at any
(Are the beggars riding again? :) )
