Bill Hunt Dec 14, 2011 10:50 AM (in response to Mr Eric J)Mr. Eric,
Can you please give us the details of that Project, that is not Opening? The more detail, probably the better.
Good luck,
Hunt

Mr Eric J Dec 14, 2011 11:01 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Sure the project i'm wanting to export has a dvd menu with 3 dynamically linked timelines and an mp4 it's pretty simple.
I can even attached the encore file if that will help this is a very strange bug, in general Encore has been very unstable for me but now it won't even open day old projects

Stan Jones Dec 14, 2011 11:40 AM (in response to Mr Eric J)What is your source for the acx file?
What happens if you start the project over? Can you get all the DLs in?
Very odd.

Encore project files do not use an xml structure. Just curious.

Encore sometimes requires a do over. If simpler methods (delete preferences file) does not do the trick, you can temporarily rename/move the transcodes one at a time (if transcoded; the PR project if not), use "skip" when prompted for missing things, to see if that allows you to open. Also, recreating it and seeing if the problem recurs may help you understand where the problem is. You can copy the Encore project file and directories as a backup (since you can't use save-as).

Yes, can you get all the DLs into a new project?

how do i delete the preferences file? also this is happening on ALL of my older projects so i think the problem is with Encore and not to the project.

Yes, can you get all the DLs into a new project?

Mr Eric J Dec 14, 2011 2:04 PM (in response to Mr Eric J)ok it appears that dynamic link is broken i'm trying to recreate the project and encore won't import the timelines of my adobe projects when i hit cancel it says "The software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem"

Stan Jones Dec 14, 2011 2:08 PM (in response to Mr Eric J)I see your new message.
To address resetting prefs (and media cache), see # 10 and 12.

This document also includes other troubleshooting for such matters.

This has been solved at times by using the "run as administrator." Also resetting preferences in both Encore and Premiere.
Some of the versions of this error don't make sense given your project working yesterday (e.g. large still image sizes).
What changed? Any updates?

Mr Eric J Dec 14, 2011 3:12 PM (in response to Mr Eric J)Ok logging in as a different user seemed to work, it is definately a prefrences issue, how do i wipe prefrences for premiere?
