Try turning off Live Preflight?
What minor revision of InDesign? 7.0.2?
Mac OS X 10.6.8
Okay, I'll give that a shot.
OK, then when it hangs, run Activity Monitor, and gather two pieces of data:
1. Select InDesign and choose Sample Process.
2. View > Send Signal: Abort (SIGABRT)
Upload both to http://pastebin.com/ and post a link here.
Having (kind of) the same issue when using Fit Frame to Content-command (ALT+CMD+C). Sometimes it works, but very often it causes InDesign to hang/crash, and I have to shut it down through Activity Monitor.
Mac OS X 10.7.2 / MacBook Pro 15" mid-2010
InDesign 7.0.4 (CS5)
Have tried to export document to IDML and open again. Didn't help.
1. Sample process (too big for pastebin): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4728031/sample%20process.txt
2. Signal abort: http://pastebin.com/WqKPZb85
Would be great if you could help.
Next time please start a new thread. Sort of the same usually isn't and we need to analyze the crash reports individually each time. In your case the problem appears to be with Live Preflight. Trashing the prefs might help, but you'll probably end up having to simply turn off Preflight except when you need to use it.
Yeah, there are bugs in Live Preflight in all CS5 and CS5.5 releases...
This one looks a bit different from the ones I'm most familiar with, but it's a pretty solid bet that Preflight is the culprit here.
