1. Re: audition 3.01 stopped working and reinstall does no good
SteveG(AudioMasters) Dec 18, 2011 1:52 AM (in response to gregh1957)Well, the location of the bugfix patch is easy to give you - it's available from here. But I doubt if this will make any difference to an application library problem, because it doesn't reinstall any that are missing. Not all versions of Audition use the same libraries, and as such it sounds rather more like a problem with your machine, because a reinstall would also make sure that the library files were in place - they come in a redistribution package that's included in the Audition installer. The only other possibilty is that your original installation package is corrupted in some way, and there's not a lot we could do about that; you'd have to contact Adobe support directly. Which is probably a good idea anyway, because they are supposed to provide free support for installation issues.

gregh1957 Dec 18, 2011 2:28 AM (in response to SteveG(AudioMasters))thankyou - it is unlikely a corrupt installer as I have copies and none of
them work - and they worked fine just a few weeks ago. It may be a win7
problem - I will try a system restore. I have no idea how to contact Adobe
support - I can only find a phone number which is not much use to me - I
have not been able to find any way to email support.
But first I shall try a system restore

TheJackAttack Dec 27, 2011 10:10 PM (in response to gregh1957)If you have not tried to delete the ap data then I would start there.
Uninstall Audition.
Delete the ap data.
Reinstall Audition.
To find the app data then first go to the control panel and folder options. Check the tab that says view and then select the radio button that states show hidden files and folders.
The location of the app data is in C://
then Users
then Owner or whatever your profile is called
then AppData
then Roaming
then Adobe
then Audition
Just right click and delete the folder. Definitely download and install the 3.01 update after you do your initial install.

SteveG(AudioMasters) Dec 28, 2011 1:31 AM (in response to TheJackAttack)How does deleting the app data help with restoring a missing application library?

TheJackAttack Dec 28, 2011 8:40 AM (in response to SteveG(AudioMasters))Some of the library information and pointers to said information end up in the app data. When reinstalling an application it is best to remove this data as well since the average uninstall process does not.

Don't think you'll find that it does - the .xml only provides pointers to options within the object application, and that won't start without the libraries being present. If the error message is correct, then it's not even getting as far as the application data.
