I am new to Flex (been a CFer for years) and I am playing with Flex hoping to learn it. I just started messing with it and ran into an error right away. I am hoping somepone out there can point me in the right direction for this cryptic error message...
Here is my simple Flex code...
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600">
<!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here -->
<s:SkinnableContainer x="59" y="78" width="200" height="200" id="container">
<s:Button x="88" y="72" label="Play" id="play" enabled="true" click="http://126.96.36.199:8000/listen.pls" fontFamily="Verdana"/>
The error is 1084: Syntax error: expecting identifier before end of program.
So what does that mean?
Click is an event handler and needs code, not the URL it will jump to. Use NavigateToURL to launch a browser for a URL.
Duh! Thanks....I should have noticed that myself. Followup question for ya...What I am trying to accomplish/build while learning Flex is create a simple AIR app that plays a stream from shout cast (the stream is located at the url I put in the click event). Are there any resources you can point me to that will guide me in how to accomplish this?
